Water Conservation in Himalayas

Water Resources Management

Water is the lifeline of the Himalayas. At Bugyal Foundation, we understand that while Uttarakhand is the "Water Tower" of India, many local communities face acute water shortages due to drying springs and climate change. Our mission is to revive, protect, and manage these vital water resources for future generations.

"Conserving water today ensures a greener, more sustainable tomorrow. Every drop saved in the mountains contributes to the survival of the entire ecosystem."

Our efforts in over 40+ villages include the rejuvenation of traditional Himalayan water sources like 'Dharas' and 'Naulas'. We promote scientific rainwater harvesting and community-led watershed management to improve the groundwater level in remote areas.

By educating rural families on efficient water use and tree plantation to improve soil moisture, we are building resilience against climate change. We invite you to support our water resource programs—because when we protect our springs, we protect the very soul of the Himalayas.
